Education

We want to share the message of how to keep yourselves and others safe on the railways. In partnership with Chiltern Railways, we have produced a rail safety video that can be used in conjunction with our lesson plans and presentations. Please feel free to download the resources below or to book a school visit, please email HeartCRP@warwickshire.gov.uk.  All we ask is that, if you download the resources to teach the sessions yourselves, then please fill in the feedback form and send it back to us at HeartCRP@warwickshire.gov.uk.

New! We have put together an activity book to help keep all members of the family entertained.

Additional resources

At the Heart of England CRP we have compiled a list of websites that have some fantastic activities for children (and adults) of all ages. We hope you enjoy them and please do get in contact if there are any other amazing resources you think we could share.

  • Community Rail Network - A list of educational and creative community rail and railway-related resources to keep your younger, and older community railers occupied during this period of lockdown.
  • Platform Rail - Platform is a dynamic, new rail-education scheme connecting schools and young people to the rail industry.  With a whole host of rail-related resources, this is an amazing website for KS2 and KS3 teachers, parents and students.
  • Network Rail - The Awesome Railways resources for schools will teach more young people about careers on the network. The Awesome Railways leaflet and animation tell children why railways are vital to Britain and why science, technology and maths (STEM) are so important to their development.
  • The Smallpeice Trust - Turn those materials you would normally send out in your recycling, into something that you can design, build and test.
  • National Trust - Inspiration for things to do on your own or with your family. A wide range of craft, baking and 'things to do at home' ideas.
