NBH Community Rail Group

NBH Community Rail Group are a rail users group and a station adoption group. The rail users group covers from Hawkesbury Lane level crossing the other side of Bedworth to the other side of Nuneaton towards Atherstone and also from Nuneaton and Hinckley, although they are considering going further outwards in the future.

The rail users group was started originally in 2007 by Mark Whitelegg with Keith and Martin assistin.  They set up the group in reponse to the WCML upgrade and the removal of a junction as Nuneaton South that meant the station was losing regular services and they represented rail users and commuters.  They built up a strong relationship with train operators and has always campaigned for better rail services, more seats and better stations.  Back in 2021 It was announced that Mark was standing down as chairman of the organisation and if there was no one found the group would close. Stu and Dave already knew each other from the Bedworth station adopters as Stu was the lead adopter and Dave was volunteer. Dave rose up to become second lead until Stu left for work reasons.  Stu and Dave have now joined forces again and decided to take on the challenge of leading the NBH Community Rail Group.

They decided to combine the two organisations with a more community feel to it, and they represent the views of local communities as well as leisure travellers and commuters.
